What is S-MM2H?
Sarawak Malaysia My Second Home (S-MM2H) program is tailor-made for foreigners seeking enriching experiences in Sarawak. Offering a renewable visa valid for 5+5 years, SMM2H is ideal for retirees and expatriates drawn to Sarawak's diverse culture, tropical climate, and cost-effective lifestyle. Administered by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, SMM2H provides participants with the opportunity to immerse themselves in Sarawak's vibrant traditions, breathtaking scenery, and modern conveniences. While not conferring permanent residency, SMM2H offers a flexible, extended stay option, allowing participants to embrace Sarawak as their second home for years to come
Benefits and Incentives
Children's Education
Parents participating in the S-MM2H program can include their unmarried children under 21 years old as dependents.
Tax Exemption
Participants may be exempt from taxes on pensions remitted in Malaysia. To qualify for this exemption, participants must provide documentation from authorities in their home country confirming the total annual pension receive which should be included with their application for tax exemption.
House Purchase
Each participant is allowed to purchase residential houses at minimum prices of RM 600,000 each at designated areas and is exempted from Foreign Investment Committee (FIC)’s approval. (Kuching RM600,000, other cities RM500,000)
