Premium Visa Programme (PVIP)
On September 1, 2022, Malaysia launched the Premium Visa Programme (PVIP) to attract foreign investors and residents for 20 years, with a renewal option for another 20 years. Similar to Golden Visa programs in Thailand, Singapore, and Portugal, the PVIP targets affluent individuals from countries with diplomatic ties to Malaysia. Applications, capped at 1% of Malaysia’s population, opened on October 1, 2022, through authorized agents. This “Residency Through Investment” initiative aims to boost Malaysia’s economic growth and is the first of its kind introduced by the government. Malaysia welcomes applications from affluent foreigners to participate in the Premium Visa Programme (PVIP).
